CEO - Illuminata EP

CEO is another swedish indie band, coming from the same record company as jj, Sincerly Yours. If The Tough Alliance rings any bells to you, then knowing that CEO is the solo project of the bands lead singer might interest you. Not much to say about Astro Nautico, these Brooklyn beat guru's know their shit when it comes to slippery smooth jazzy and bass packed beats. I highly recommend you try their Quiet Nights EP, and if you want the full experience turn up the bass, cuz it gets unexplainablely good. Dntel pioneered the genre of glitch/indietronica, although most of you probably know him as the instrumentalist teamed with Ben Gibbard in The Postal Service. He is renown for cutting up the sounds from acoustic guitars, accordions and many other instruments to create his masterpieces. Some a quite dark in their nature but others are just beautiful, he doesn't have a very large discography but its worth the listen.

Simon Green debuted in 1999 at 18 years old, now he is a notable artist in the electronic- downtempo genre. Beirut

The EP's and the albums of Beirut are largely the work of Zach Condon. Condon was a straight A student until he dropped out of high school at age 16 to travel europe in a drunken haze, cavorting and partying with the locals wherever he ended up. It was on one of these nights where he was first exposed to Balkan music, blasting from the upstairs apartment was the Boban Markovic Orkestar. Condon ended up with the Serbians all night, going through albums country by country, note for note. You could say that this was Condons stepping stool into the world of music and he went on to form a band of his own making use of a total of 16 instruments. His voice is unbelievable and the band itself is pure magic.

Phoenix - The Early Days

Phoenix only really came to life since there album Wolfgang Amadeus, and it was through the albums 'feel good' factor that got it regarded as one of the top albums of the year. Most have yet too look deeper into the band's earlier days as everyones been so caught up in the likes of Lisztomania and Girlfriend but i can assure you that your in for a real treat here - Thomas Mars voice is as good as ever before, the melody is still psychedelic, and they don't miss a beat.
